Apple fibre (Apple fibre)

Apple Fibre is rich in pectin, a soluble type of fibre. Soluble, or gel-forming fibres absorb water from the digestive tract. This helps to increase the size of the stool and normalise its transit time through the bowel. Soluble fibre can be beneficial in cases of constipation and diarrhoea.

Studies show that soluble fibre, when used as part of a calorie controlled diet, can enhance weight loss and enhance healthy bowel function. Soluble fibre helps to normalise the levels of fats in the blood stream. Research shows that approximately 10 gms of soluble fibre taken each day can have the affect of reducing total cholesterol by up to 4 % in people with elevated cholesterol levels.
