Do we really need vitamin supplements?
More than ever before, both local and global scientific studies are showing men and women to have deficiencies or inadequacies in important vitamins and minerals including calcium, zinc and magnesium and vitamins such as A, B and C.
These nutrients are vital for healthy functioning organs, skin and eyesight, strong bones, nervous system and general wellbeing. Long term deficiencies can cause poor health. Demanding work schedules and some lifestyle habits can also be punishing on the body and increase the need for vitamins and minerals. Even if you're on a 'balanced diet' you can still suffer from nutritional deficiencies due to a sluggish digestive system or assimilative disorders.
Furthermore, a balanced diet may not always deliver the needed vitamins and minerals due to some food production, as well as farming and processing methods. Of course foods contain a broad range of micro & macronutrients, so it is always important to consume healthy foods, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
However, scientific studies have proven that a good diet may no longer be good enough for optimum health and disease prevention. The world leading Journal of the American Medical Association (vol 287, no 23, 19 June 2002) recently published an article recommending that "all adults take one multivitamin daily".** This recommendation comes after the assessment of over 30 years of clinical studies from around
the world.
I'm allergic to some preservatives and additives. Do the Swisse formulae contain any ingredients that could trigger a reaction?
Swisse has developed low allergy formulae, wherever possible refraining from the use of ingredients that may trigger an allergic reaction. The formulas do not contain preservatives, artificial colours or flavours. However, some people may have allergies to the most natural of foods. So if you experience discomfort from the use of any product, immediately speak with your health care professional.
Is it normal for the colour of the urine to turn bright yellow from the use of the Swisse formulae?
Yes. These are mainly B vitamins being eliminated from the body.
What your body requires for that day is utilised, and the remainder is excreted. This also shows that the tablet has disintegrated effectively in the body.
What differentiates the Swisse Ultivites from other brands?
What really differentiates one product from another is the quality and potency of ingredients utilised, as well as the research used to formulate the product.
What is the Swisse Tri-Synergy Formulation about?
Tri-synergy formulation relates to the synergistic action of 3 elements - vitamins, mineral and herbs, contributing to the efficacy of Swisse Ultivites.
Swisse Ultivites utilize naturally sourced, standardized extract, water soluble nutrients wherever possible to ensure better absorption and retentions and prevent toxicity. To ensure Swisse remains at the forefront, we are continually researching new ingredients to ensure we incorporate the highest grade of standardised extracts - not the cheapest.
Combination of ingredients is also important as high levels of one nutrient may cause depletion of another, for this reason Swisse works closely with medical health care professional to ensure the right combination with the right amount for peak performance.
Furthermore, Swisse Ultivites must pass over 300 quality assurance tests during the three main stages of production - analysis of raw materials, manufacturing and finished product testing, to ensure our benchmark standards are maintained. Swisse formulae have been developed around what's best for our wellbeing, regardless of the cost. We start with the research and development and then price the product, rather than working to a commercial equation.
People come before Profits!
What is the difference between Swisse tablets and capsules?
Swisse Ultivites are available in both tablet and capsule form. One Ultivite tablet is equivalent to two capsules - we recommend 1 tablet daily or 2 capsules daily.
Capsules are smaller in size so they do not fit as much of each ingredient in each capsule in comparison to each tablet. Capsules are easy to swallow so are an ideal option if you have difficulty swallowing tablets. Some tablets are known to take longer to break down (disintegrate) in the body than capsules, however, with Swisse's advanced manufacturing technologies, both the Swisse Ultivite tablets and capsules are highly absorbable, and take approximately the same time, around 25 minutes, to break down in the digestive tract.
Capsules cost approximately 10% more due to the additional manufacturing costs and materials involved.
Is Swisse Australian Owned?
Yes, Swisse Vitamins is an Australian owned and operated company. All our products are manufactured in Australia.
Why are Swisse Ultivites more expensive than some other multivitamins?
Swisse Ultivites are a multivitamin, mineral and antioxidant supplement with added herbs. They contain more ingredients than many other multivitamin products. The quantities of these ingredients are often in greater amounts, providing the therapeutic benefits that are desired.
These ingredients are also sourced from reputable suppliers and the highest quality natural ingredients are used wherever possible; rather than synthetic products that some other manufacturers may use.
